CAPT George "Stroker" Wikoff

Captain George M. Wikoff was born in New Brunswick, N.J. He received his commission through the George Washington University NROTC program in 1990.
Captain Wikoff was designated a Naval Aviator in March 1993 and received orders to the “Grim Reapers” of VF-101 at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia, for F-14 Tomcat training. His first fleet assignment was as a member of the “Diamondbacks” of VF-102. There, he deployed in support of Operations DENY FLIGHT and SOUTHERN WATCH aboard USS AMERICA (CV 66).
In May 1997, Captain Wikoff was selected to attend the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), where he remained as a staff instructor and served as Training Officer. In September 2000, Captain Wikoff reported to the Forward Deployed Naval Forces and the “Black Knights” of VF-154 in Atsugi, Japan. The squadron embarked to the Western Pacific aboard the USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63) where Captain Wikoff served as Maintenance and Operations Officer.
In January 2003, Captain Wikoff was assigned to the Naval Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn., where he managed manning for the Tomcat and Super Hornet communities as Placement Officer. In December 2004, Captain Wikoff reported to the Joint Staff were he served as an Action Officer in the Operations Directorate, Deputy Directorate for Antiterrorism and Homeland Defense.
In May 2007, Captain Wikoff reported to the “Checkmates” of VFA-211 where he deployed aboard the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65). He assumed command of the “Checkmates” in August 2008. In November 2009, Captain Wikoff reported to the Director, Air Warfare (OPNAV N88) where he served as Special Programs Requirements Officer. He assumed Command of the VFA-122 “Flying Eagles” in March 2011.
Captain Wikoff is a 1990 graduate of the Catholic University of America, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Financial Management. He holds a Masters of Science in Operations Management from University of Arkansas.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, Air Medal (two Strike/Flight), Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars, and Navy Achievement Medal with one gold star.
