Command Master Chief

Master Chief Dave Lynch, a native of Lewistown, Montana, entered the U.S. Navy in 1986. He attended recruit training at Great Lakes, Illinois with follow-on training at Basic Enlisted Submarine School, Groton, Connecticut.

Other assignments include USS JOHN ADAMS (SSBN 620), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER (SSBN 656), USS MICHIGAN (SSBN 727), USS SAN JUAN (SSN 751), USS TEXAS (SSN 775) and was selected as a Recruit Division Commander, Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. He successfully earned his Chief of the Boat qualification and received orders to the USS ALASKA (SSBN 732) Gold Crew. He served as Command Master Chief for Naval Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut. He served as Command Master Chief, Submarine Squadron One, and just completed his tour as Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet Force Master Chief.

Master Chief Lynch assumed the duties of the Command Master Chief USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) in August 2011.

Master Chief Lynch’s military education includes Fire Control Technician “A” and “C” School in Groton, Connecticut; Trident Defensive Weapons System School, Bangor, Washington; Combat Control System MK2 Mod2, Newport, Rhode Island; Curriculum Development Course, Great Lakes, Illinois; Navy Instructor School; Navy Leadership Facilitator School; Recruit Division Commander School and the Senior Enlisted Academy (Green Group), Newport, Rhode Island.

Master Chief Lynch is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (Eight awards), Good Conduct (four awards), Expert Pistol, and Enlisted Submarine Insignia.
