CMDCM (AW/SS) Gregg Weber

Command Master Chief

CMDCM (SS/AW) Gregg Weber was born and raised in Oakdale NY, and enlisted in the Navy in January 1985.  After completing Recruit Training in Great Lakes Ill, and Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton CT, he reported to the USS BATON ROUGE (SSN 689) in Norfolk VA where he earned his coveted Dolphins and advanced to Storekeeper Second Class.

Other sea duty assignments include the USS GATO (SSN 615), USS SANTA FE (SSN 763), where he advanced to Chief Petty Officer, and USS PARCHE (SSN 683).  His shore duty assignments include PMOLANTSSNSUPPDET New London CT, and Naval Submarine School, Groton CT.

Upon complettion of his shore tour at Naval Submarine School, he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 97 (Blue) prior to reporting to USS HENRY M. JACKSON (SSBN 730) (Gold) as Chief of the Boat, where he completed 5 Strategic Deterrent Patrols. Master Chief Weber then reported to COMSUBPAC Staff, serving on the Tactical Readiness Evaluation (TRE) Team.

Selected for Command Master Chief in January 2006, Master Chief Weber Assumed the duties as NSSC Pearl Harbor Command Master Chief in March 2006. During this tour he completed his degree in Business Administration and Economics from Empire State College.  In April 2009, Master Chief Weber reported to the Wizards of VPU-2 as Command Master Chief.  During his tour at VPU-2, the Wizards won two consecutive Battle "E" Awards.  Master Chief Weber relieved as Command Master Chief of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in March 2011.  In May 2012, Master Chief Weber relieved as Command Master Chief of USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).

Master Chief Weber's personal awards include the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Submarine Insignia, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards(, Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), and the Navy Achievement Medal (five awards).
