Master Chief Logistics Specialist (SW/AW) Jimmy P. Cubillo is a native of Cavite City, Philippines and was born May 25, 1965. He is one of many fortunate recruited from Olongapo, Subic Bay. He enlisted in the Navy November 13, 1984 and completed Basic Recruit Training in San Diego. He attended the deck seamanship course at Naval Training San Diego and was assigned to his first ship, the Pre-Commissioning Unit USS Missouri (BB-63).

Master Chief Cubillo started his military service as a deck seaman and decided to strike for a supply rate. He become a designated storekeeper and advanced to second class petty officer during his first tour. His following sea duty tour was aboard USS Independence (CV 62) from December 1992 to January 1997 as supply functional area supervisor. In 1994 he was advanced to chief petty officer and become the material division leading chief on board USS Independence. Later he served aboard USS Peleliu (LHA 5) from January 2000 to March 2003 as the stock control leading chief petty officer (LCPO). LSCM (SW/AW) Cubillo also served aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) from June 2006 to August 2009 as the supply department LCPO and as S-1 stock control and supply readiness LCPO.

His shore duty assignments have included tours on Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) San Diego 1989-1992, Fleet Technical Support Center Pacific (FTSC-PAC) San Diego 1997-2000, Commander Naval Surface Force Pacific (CNSF) Coronado, Calif. 2003-2006 and Commander Naval Air Forces U.S. Pacific Fleet 20092012.

Master Chief Cubillo is entitled to wear the following awards and decorations: Navy Commendation Medal (6), Navy Achievement Medal (3), Navy Unit Citation Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Citation, Battle Efficiency ribbon (3), Navy Good Conduct (7), National Defense, Global War on Terrorism-Expeditionary Medal (1), Global War on Terrorism-Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Sea Service Ribbon.
