Captain Becker was born in and is a native of Chicago, Illinois.  He graduated from The University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance in December, 1994.  He received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in January 1995 and was designated a Naval Aviator in May 1997. He received orders to VFA-106, NAS Cecil Field, FL for initial FA-18 training.
 In April 1998, he completed Fleet Replacement Squadron Training and was assigned to the Valions of VFA-15. Captain Becker completed two deployments onboard the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT and USS ENTERPRISE supporting Operations ALLIED FORCE and SOUTHERN WATCH.   His follow on assignment in October 2001 was to the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center where he served as an instructor at the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School.
CAPT Becker was assigned to the Warhawks of VFA-97 in November 2004 as the Training Officer and he completed the 2004 Unit Deployment Program (UDP) to Iwakuni, Japan.
Following his tour at VFA-97, CAPT Becker was assigned to the Jolly Rogers of VFA-103 as a Department Head.  He served as the Administrative Officer, Operations Officer, and Maintenance Officer.  CAPT Becker completed one deployment onboard the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER supporting Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.  In December of 2007, CAPT Becker was assigned to the Navy Personnel Command as the Strike Fighter Assignments Officer.
CAPT Becker served as the Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of VFA-31 and completed one deployment onboard the USS GEORGE H W BUSH supporting Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.  In November of 2013, CAPT Becker was assigned to the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command in Norfolk, VA as a Joint Planner and the J-33 Current Operations Chief.  He earned an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the Navy Postgraduate School in March of 2016.
CAPT Becker has accumulated over 3000 flight hours and more than 700 arrested landings. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, six Strike Flight Air Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, one with combat “V”, and various other unit and campaign awards.
He reported to Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic, February 2018 as Deputy Commander.
