CMDCM (AW/SW) DOUG RINEHART, USN

 

  Master Chief Rinehart is a native of South Carolina and entered the Navy in 1992 where he completed recruit training in Orlando, Florida. Following boot camp, he attended Cryptologic Technician Administrative “A” school in Pensacola, Florida.

  In March 1993, he transferred to the Communications Material Issuing Office in San Diego, California. During this assignment, he assisted in the receipt and issue of Pacific Fleet Communications Security Material and was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class.

  The command decommissioned in February 1995 and he transferred to Naval Security Group Detachment, San Diego. During this assignment, he served as the Cryptologic Readiness Group Administrative Assistant and Direct Support Administration Leading Petty Officer. He was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class and completed direct support assignments onboard USS MERRILL (DD 976) and USS BOXER (LPH 4).

  In November 1996, he transferred to USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) and served as the Assistant Special Security Officer. During this tour, he deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation SOUTHERN WATCH. He qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, was recognized as the 1998 Junior Sailor of the Year and promoted to Petty Officer First Class.

    In March 2000, he transferred to Naval Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida for duty as an “A” School Instructor. He qualified as a Master Training Specialist and was selected as the 2001 Instructor of the Year. On 16 September 2001, he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. He then assumed the duties as Course Manger and Leading Chief Petty Officer for the Information Systems Security Manager course.

  In April 2003, he transferred to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, DC. During this assignment, he served as the Information Assurance Manager for the Joint Staff, advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer, and was selected for conversion to Cryptologic Technician Networks.

  In April 2006, he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 124 Blue) in Newport, Rhode Island and subsequently reported to Navy Information Operations Command, Pensacola, Florida in June 2006. During this assignment, he served as Command Senior Enlisted Leader, advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer and was selected into the Command Master Chief program.

  In October 2009, he attended the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course in Newport, Rhode Island and transferred to the Sun Kings of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE ONE SIX in Point Mugu, California.

  In September 2010, he deployed with Carrier Air Wing TWO onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) to the Persian Gulf in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN. During the deployment, he assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Carrier Air Wing TWO.

In August 2011, he transferred to the Sea Knights of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO TWO in Norfolk, Virginia.

  In October 2012, Master Chief Rinehart assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Commander, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet located in Mayport, Florida.

  Master Chief Rinehart’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Three), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Six), and various other unit, campaign and service awards. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University.
