CMDCM JOHN FUSTON,
Command Master Chief Fuston was born and raised in Tennessee and enlisted in the Navy in January 1987. Upon completion of basic training and Intelligence Specialist “A” school, he was assigned to USCINCLANT J2, Norfolk, VA.
Master Chief Fuston's others assignments have included Commander, Naval Special Warfare Development Group at Dam Neck, Virginia; USS San Jacinto (CG 56); USS Nassau (LHA 4); Atlantic Intelligence Command Norfolk, Virginia; USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75); Commander Naval Air Forces, Atlantic, Norfolk Virginia; Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Kabul, Afghanistan.
In November of 2006 Master Chief Fuston was selected for Command Master Chief and was assigned as Command Master Chief of Center for Naval Intelligence, Dam Neck, VA. In March of 2009, he was selected by Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic to serve as the region Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Fuston is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 131, and Command Master Chief Course, Class 39. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Liberal Arts - Administration and Management Studies.
His personal awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Commendation Service Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), and the Joint Service Achievement Medal.
