TEAM SPAWAR

Careers

Welcome to our Human Resources and Career Opportunities Section!

This year the Department of the Navy transitions from the Civilian Hiring and Recruitment Tool (CHART) to USAJOBS for managing online applications. USAJOBS is the official job site of the  U.S. federal government and the one-stop source for federal jobs and employment information.

USAJOBS is where announcements will be posted and applicants will apply for positions. SPAWAR will transition to USAJOBS on two different dates:

  • SPAWAR Headquarters, Program Executive Offices & SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific transitioned on May 31, 2011
  • SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic will transition in August 2011

During the transition, applicants should begin using and familiarizing themselves with the USAJOBS tool.

Until the transition is complete it is recommend that you continue to keep a resume in CHART as well as USAJOBS.
When using USAJOBS, follow the "How to Apply" instructions located in the job announcement directions.  When reading announcements, pay close attention to the "Duty Location(s)" and "Who May Be Considered" sections. Before applying for a position, ensure you meet the criteria specified in both.

Applicants can access additional information on searching and applying for federal jobs using USAJOBS, including tutorials and FAQs at www.usajobs.gov/infocenter/.

New Professional Program (NP)
