If the NIAPS candidate is a content only product or will use NIAPS as a data pass through vehicle only, training requirements will not be levied. Training will be discussed with the application owner when the training requirements telecon is held between the NIAPS Training Support Agent (TSA) and the application owner at the proper time during the 'Join NIAPS' process. The NIAPS TSA provides NIAPS System Administration training, NIAPS Overview and Navy Career Tools training, and provides a training service for any shipboard NIAPS application that chooses to take advantage of this offer. Will a trainee receive credit for attending the NIAPS training? Yes. There is a process in place that provides a training certification letter for NIAPS System Administrator training in the trainee's Electronic Training Jacket (ETJ). Back to Top How long is the NIAPS System Administrator (SA) training and what is involved? The NIAPS System Administrator (SA) training course is 7 hours in duration and is taught onboard the ship or submarine. It consists of 5 hours of PowerPoint based, instructor lead training complimented with two hours of hands-on Job Sheets and troubleshooting with the trainee. NIAPS System Administrator (SA) training in not available at this time in a schoolhouse setting. A Navy Training Systems Plan is in development and once approved, the process of getting the NIAPS SA training into a formal school house setting will begin. Back to Top
