Food Service Management (FSM)

FSM is an automated means for food service personnel to perform all administrative and record keeping functions relating to the daily operations of a dining facility. FSM provides detailed processes to collect, store, review and report food item information, process receipts, generate inventories, requisitions, recipes, menus and other food service related data required by the dining facility.  Since the mid 1980s, FSM has provided Navy galleys afloat and ashore with the following capabilities:
  • Captures head count attendance data for both ashore and afloat galleys in a variety of situations and scenarios
  • Generates financial reports needed to manage the ship’s funds and reports required by higher authority
  • FSM includes generation of:
    • Forecasts based on head counts
    • Daily request for food to be drawn from storerooms
    • Requisition for food deliveries
    • Monthly financial data for end users
    • Pricing and allowance data
