Master Chief Jon R. Taylor is assigned as the Command Master Chief for the United States Fleet Cyber Command and United States TENTH Fleet at Fort George G. Meade, MD.
Command Master Chief Taylor, a native of Kansas City, Kansas, graduated a member of the National Honor Society, from J.C. Harmon High School in May 1986.
He entered the Navy in San Diego, California in June of 1986. After graduation from Basic Training, Command Master Chief Taylor attended CTT/R class "A" school in Pensacola, Florida.
Throughout his career, Command Master Chief Taylor has served in various locations around the world to include: Naval Security Group Activity Edzell, Scotland; Naval Security Group Detachment (NSGD) Imperial Beach, California; NSGD FOUR Edzell, Scotland; NSGD TWO Winter Harbor, Maine; USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) Norfolk, Virginia; Naval Information Operations Command (NIOC) Hawaii; NIOC Whidbey Island, Washington; USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC-20) forward deployed in Gaeta, Italy and the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland.
Command Master Chief Taylor's academic achievements include a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Information Systems; United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy; Naval Postgraduate School’s Senior Leadership Seminar; Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education; and the National Defense University Keystone course.
Command Master Chief's personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with one silver star); and has qualified Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Master Training Specialist.
