- A native of Washington, Missouri, CAPT Chase graduated from the U. S. Nava Academy in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in English. CAPT Chase also holds a Master of Science in Information Technology as well as a Federal CIO certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his Naval Aviator wings in July 1993.
Operational tours include HSL 45, during which time he deployed twice to the Arabian Gulf with USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61) in support of Maritime Interdiction Operations and HSL 49, where he deployed as Officer in Charge, HSL 49 Detachment Six aboard USS SHILOH (CG-67) during Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. During his time in HSL 49, he was awarded the Commander, Naval Air Forces Leadership Award (2003) for his contributions as HSL 49’s Maintenance Officer.
Shore assignments include HSL 41 as an SH-60B FRS Instructor and Tactical Check Pilot, Aide to Director Air Warfare (N88) on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon, Flag Aide to Commander, Naval Air Forces, and Operations Officer for COMHSLWINGPAC and COMHELMARSTRIKEWING.
Joining the Navy’s Information Professional cadre in 2005, CAPT Chase reported to Commander, THIRD Fleet, where he served as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Requirements (N8) and the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Innovation and Experimentation (N9). He commanded the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station on the island of Guam from 2008 to 2011, and served as Deputy Director of CYBERPAC and Deputy Director for Command, Control, and Communications at U.S. Pacific Command from 2011 to 2014.
CAPT Chase comes to NAVNETWARCOM from Commander, Carrier Strike Group THREE as the Information Warfare Commander, where he was responsible for tactically integrating all warfighting aspects of the Information Domain for the John C. Stennis Strike Group.
CAPT Chase’s personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as various campaign and unit awards.
