LCDR Mathhew G. Dalton
Lieutenant Commander Matthew Gregory Dalton, born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 2005. Later in 2005, he began his career in the Information Warfare Community at Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) San Diego where he was an IW trainee. In 2006, he attended the Information Warfare Basic Course in Pensacola, Florida.
From 2006 until 2009, he served at NIOC Texas as the Fleet Information Operations Center Analysis and Production Department Head and as a Direct Support Officer on various US Navy Combatants to include the USS KEARSARGE, USS NIMITZ, and as Destroyer Squadron FOUR ZERO’s Information Warfare Officer and the Task Force Deputy IWC for Partnership of the Americas 2007 onboard the USS PEARL HARBOR. In 2008, he then deployed as the OIC of Cryptologic Support Team Two in support of the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Arabian Peninsula (CJSOTF-AP) headquartered in Balad, Iraq.
From June 2009 until May 2011, his assignments included serving at NIOC Colorado as the NSA/CSS Department Head in charge of 60 Sailors and operationally as the Multinational Resource Management Team Lead at the Aerospace Data Facility-Colorado where he led 80 joint military and civilian personnel and directed real-time implementation and resource allocation of $10B in National assets.
In 2011 he served as the Flag Aide to the Director of the National Maritime Intelligence Center and in 2012 he served as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Intelligence (J2), USCYBERCOM.
From 2012 until 2015 he served as the Lead Information Operations Planner and Focal Point Control Officer at COMSEVENTHFLT where he integrated cyber and other non-kinetic effects with kinetic fires for multiple real world operations, exercises, and operational plans.
Currently he is serving as the Naval Special Warfare, Special Reconnaissance Team Two Special Collections Troop Commander in charge of 90 Sailors and the Tactical Information Operations (TIO) program’s support to Naval Special Warfare operations in three theaters of operations and a CNO Priority ONE mission.
His professional education includes a BS in History from the United States Naval Academy, an MS in Strategic Intelligence with focus on Intelligence Operations from American Military University, and Joint Professional Military Education, Phase I.
LCDR Dalton’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (2), and various unit and service awards. He is married to Elizabeth Dalton and they have three children, Parker, Tate, and Abby.
