Following Recruit Training, he completed CTT “A” school and Augmentee Direct Support Operators Course “C” School with follow-on orders to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) San Diego, California. Following his DIRSUP tour, Master Chief Bogan was converted to the CTR rating and attended the Analysis and Reporting course at Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo, Texas with follow on orders to NSGA Rota, Spain. After completing his tour at NSGA Rota, Master Chief Bogan attended CK-155, Cryptologic Supervisors Course, in Ft. Meade, Maryland, with follow on orders to NSGA Misawa, Japan.
Following Misawa, he joined the CLASSIC OWL program at the Naval Information Warfare Activity and completed his first operations tour with Detachment 4 in Molesworth, England. His second CLASSIC OWL tour was as the Course Manager at training Detachment 2 in Winter Harbor, Maine, which relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia during his tour.
Master Chief Bogan the transferred to USS SAN JACINTO CG-56 in Norfolk, Virginia and completed multiple successful deployments to the Baltic Sea and Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon transferring from SAN JACINTO, he reported to Center for Information Dominance Corry Station, Pensacola, Florida and served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Fleet Cryptologic Operator/Maintenance and Officer/Senior Enlisted Information Operations courses.
Completing his tour at CID Corry Station, he then transferred back to Norfolk where he served with Navy Cyber Forces and then with Fleet Cyber Command/Commander TENTH Fleet, where he was advanced to Master Chief. Following staff duty with NCF and C10F, Master Chief Bogan once again transferred overseas to NIOC Yokosuka, where he currently serves as the Command Master Chief.
CTRCM(SW) Bogan has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), the Joint Service Achievement Medal (2), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4). He has earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Master Training Specialist designations.
