Lieutenant Commander Lemuel "Seth" Lawrence is a native of Moorcroft, WY.

In 1996 he enlisted as a Nuclear Machinist's Mate (MM) where he excelled in associated training and was invited to stay as an instructor at the Nuclear Prototype Training Unit in Ballston Spa, NY. While there he received his Bachelor of Science, Human Resource Management (HRM), from The New School University in 2000 and was accepted to Officer Candidate School.

Upon commissioning in December 2000 as a Naval Cryptology Officer, he was stationed at Naval Security Group Kunia where he qualified as a Watch Officer and Direct Support Officer (Subsurface) and served as the Fleet Cryptologic Augmentation Center Officer. Also, during the last year of this tour he was asked to support the Commander Pacific Fleet N39 staff as an Information Operations (IO) and Special Technical Operations (STO) planner.

In July 2004, he reported to Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Where he studied Computer Science with a concentration on advanced computer security principles and completed his Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) phase I. Upon receipt of his Masters of Science, Computer Science, in September 2006 he transferred to Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Suitland.

While at NIOC Suitland he served as the lead planner for the Central Planning Cell and the Navy Cyber Attack Team lead supporting multiple COCOM's. During this tour at NIOC Suitland, his entire department was transitioned to NIOC Maryland where he was selected to stand up the new NNWC N33 CNO Staff element at Fort Meade and serve as the NIOC Maryland Assistant Department Head for sailors supporting the National Security Agency's Tailored Access Operations. He was one of only a very few Navy Mission Commanders supporting the JCAT aligned to multiple COCOMS.

LCDR Lawrence's most recent tour was as a plank owner of FLTCYBERCOM/COMTENTHFLT where he was the first ever C10F Battle Watch Captain. While there he also served as Deputy Current Operations Officer, Assistant Senior Watch Officer, and lead Offensive Cyber Planner.

His personal decorations and certifications include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (2), Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS), and Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
