Senior Enlisted Leader

Master Chief Petty Officer Morris is a native of Wewahitchka, FL, and entered the Navy in January of 1998 in Great Lakes, IL. After graduation from Basic Training, he attended Cryptologic Technician Collection "A" School and Direct Support (DIRSUP) "C" schools in Pensacola, FL. From 1999 to 2001, he was assigned to the Direct Support team out of NSGA Rota, Spain. He served as a Middle East North Africa and Former Soviet Union analyst on the Martime Cryptologic Information Center and deployed on multiple surface combatants and qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.

In 2001, he attended Analysis and Reporting "C" school before transferring to Naval Special Warfare Group One as a Tactical Cryptologic Support Operator from 2001 to 2006. CTR1 Morris deployed 540 days supporting various Seal Teams and Special Boat Teams in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

CTR1 reported to Corry Station as an Instructor in 2006 for the DIRSUP "C" school. In 2007 he was selected to Chief Petty Officer and as the CID Senior Instructor of the Year. He co-wrote the Cryptologic Fleet Operator (CFO) "C" school that replaced DIRSUP in 2008 while serving as the LCPO for CFO, INC-E, COBLU, and CDF courses. Chief Morris PCS'd to the Pre-Commissioning unit USS SPRUANCE (DDG-111) home ported in San Diego, Ca in 2010. He was hand-selected by DESRON-21 to fill a critical manning requirement onboard the USS DEWEY (DDG-105) for their maiden deployment in 2011.

Chief Morris returned to SPRUANCE after a 6 month 7th and 5th fleet deployment and served as the OT, OI, and OD LCPO. Chief Morris was selected to Senior Chief in 2013 and served as the Department LCPO for SPRUANCE's maiden deployment to 7th and 5th fleet in 2013-2014.

In 2014, Senior Chief Morris transferred to NIOC Pensacola and was selected to Master Chief in 2016.  Master Chief Morris is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader.  His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal(with three gold stars), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal(with one gold star).
