The ombudsman is a volunteer who is appointed by the commanding officer to serve as an information link between the command and command families. I have been trained to disseminate official information from the command to the families as well as provide resource referrals when needed. I am aware of the services provided by the Fleet and Family Support Center and I have the contact information of other support organizations available to Navy families. I am committed to helping NIOCP families find valuable resources during times when family members are deployed.

The M.E.A.L.S program is intended to help members at the command have a home cooked meal provided for them when they are experiencing an unforeseen circumstance. This can include but is not limited to a death in the family or having surgery. All persons stationed at the command are eligible for this program. This includes all civilians and active duty personal and their families. Meals will be provided for up to 5 days or as many as requested, whichever is less. Meals are provided by other members of the command on a volunteer basis.
Meals for Moms and Dads
This program is intended to provide meals for parents of new children. Any person at the command is eligible for the program whether the active duty member or the spouse is the pregnant person. Meals will be provided to those who sign up and provide the requested information BEFORE the baby arrives. Meals will be provided for up to 5 days after the family comes home from the hospital or for as many days as requested, whichever is less. All meals will be provided by families in the command on a volunteer basis.
