CDR Sean I. Fischer, USN

  Commander Sean Ian Fischer was born in New York City, raised in Brooklyn, New York, El Paso, Texas and Boonton, New Jersey. He attended Boonton High School lettering in soccer and lacrosse and received his high school diploma in June 1982.

   He enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1982 under the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) and entered active duty in September 1982 completing Basic Training and Radioman Technical Apprenticeship (“A”) School in San Diego, California in February 1983.

   His enlisted assignments include Naval Communications Area Master Station, Norfolk, Virginia NAVCAMS LANT), USS Harry E. Yarnell (CG-17), USS Estocin (FFG-15), USS Normandy (CG-60/Plankowner) and Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia. He attained the rank of Radioman, Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8).

   Commander Fischer was commissioned under the Navy’s Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program March 1st 1995. His officer assignments included tours as Communications Division Officer aboard USS Nashville (LPD-13), Assistant Officer-in-Charge/Operations Officer at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Europe Central, Detachment London, United Kingdom (NCTAMS EURCENT DET London), Combat Systems Information Officer aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) and Commander, Carrier Strike Group Two (CCSG-2) embarked aboard the flagship USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) where he served as the Assistant Chief-of-Staff for Communications and Information Systems (ACOS N6).

   Commander Fischer was assigned to the United States European Command, Joint Analysis Center (USEUCOM JAC) Molesworth, England as the Enterprise Technical Services Officer. During this time he was selected to serve as the USEUCOM JAC Navy Element Commander leading 200 Sailors.

   Commander Fischer was assigned as the Defense Intelligence Agency, DODIIS Customer Service Center-Europe (DIA DCSC-E/Molesworth, England) Assistant Chief-of-Staff for the Regional Manager/Commander.  Additionally, he served as the Performance and Service Level Management Branch Chief.

   He was then assigned to Special Operations Command, Europe (SOCEUR) as the J65 Operations and Plans Chief responsible for planning, developing and executing special forces contingency operations and exercise plans in the European, JSOTF-TS (Trans Sahara-Africa) and ISAF-SOF Afghanistan areas of operations. As the J6 Partnership Development Program (PDP) team leader he worked to improve NATO special forces communications capabilities and interoperability.
