CDR Crisp, Vitterio J. CDR, USN

CDR Crisp is a native of Groton, CT, joining the Navy in February of 1983 as an Aviation Electronics Technician.  A graduate of Old Dominion University he earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology and was commissioned via the Enlisted Commissioning Program in December of 1992.

In September of 1995 and after a 3 year tour with TRAWING FOUR in Corpus Christi, TX CDR Crisp reported for his next assignment onboard USS George Washington as the Air Transfer Officer while re-designating to the Fleet Support Community in February of 1997.  Afterward, CDR Crisp arrived at the Naval Postgraduate School earning his Masters Degree in Space Systems Operations in September of 1999.  Desiring to obtain joint experience, in October of 1999 CDR Crisp arrived in Stuttgart, Germany, for his next assignment as lead operations engineer for networks and satellite communications in the Operations Department of DISA-Europe.  In October of 2002 and after successful completion of his first Joint Tour at DISA Europe CDR Crisp’s was assigned as Chief of Network Operations, Operations Department, Naval Network and Space Operations Command, Dahlgren, VA.  In December of 2004 CDR Crisp’s follow-on assignment from Dahlgren, VA, was as the Communications Officer onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), Carrier Strike Group NINE, Everett, WA, where he completed two successful deployments to FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet AORs.  In May of 2006 CDR Crisp arrived in Miami, Florida, AT United States Southern Command to be the C4I and SPACE Planner in the Operations and Planning department where he made numerous deployments to the Caribbean, South and Central America AORs as part of no less than a dozen Joint Task Force Operations, Joint Task Force Exercises, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief efforts.  From April of 2009 to March of  2011, CDR Crisp was assigned to Commander Naval Forces Europe, Naval Forces Africa and SIXTH Fleet, Naples, Italy, as the Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief of Information Assurance, Communications and Information Directorate.  In April to December of 2011 CDR Crisp next assignment was as the Officer in Charge, Communications Support Office, Baghdad, Iraq. 

CDR Crisp is currently Executive Officer at NAVCOMTESTA Far East since May 2012. His awards include: Defense Meritorious Service, Meritorious Service, Joint Defense Commendation, Navy Commendation, Joint Service Achievement, Navy Achievement, Good Conduct and Outstanding Voluntary Service Medals.
