SHELDON L. MALONE

 

 

 

Chief Warrant Officer Malone, U.S. Navy, assumed command of Naval Computer Telecommunications Strategic Communications Unit, Oklahoma City on 4 April 2015.  He is a native of Tallahassee, Florida and a graduate of Leon High School.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1986 as a Radioman Seaman Recruit.  After tours with USS AMERICA (CV 66), USS COMTE DE GRASSE (DD 974), Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Jacksonville, Naval Air Station Jacksonville (Enlisted Education Advancement Program (EEAP), USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) (promoted to Chief Petty Officer 1997), Navy Personnel Command (Enlisted Detailer), COMUSNAVCENT/COMFIFTHFLT, and USS CARTER HALL (LSD 50); ITC(SW/AW) Malone was selected for the Chief Warrant Officer Program and received his commission 1 January 2004.  He is a graduate of Florida Community College at Jacksonville in 1993 with an Associate in Arts (General Studies) and Regent University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry.

His Operational tours include Radio Officer/Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) Manager on USS WASP (LHD 1), Coalition Communications Officer at COMUSNAVCENT/COMFIFTHFLT and N6 Communications Department Head of Naval Special Warfare Logistics and Support Unit THREE (LOGSU-3).  In 2009, Chief Warrant Officer Malone completed an Individual Augmentation tour in Baghdad, Iraq serving on the staff of United States Forces Iraq J6 Theater C4I Branch as the Circuits and Transmissions Officer in Charge.  Ashore, he has served as Information Assurance Manager at COMNAVNETWARCOM/COMNAVCYBERFOR and as a C4I Communications Systems Planner at COMPACFLT. 

Chief Warrant Officer Malone’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (7 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and various campaign and unit awards.  He is a qualified Information Dominance Warfare Officer (IDWO), Informational Professional (Basic), Information Professional (Intermediate), and certified ITIL (V3).

He is married to Jasmine T. (Rojas) Malone originally from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and has four daughters:  Denisha, Danika, Desiree, and Danielle.
