Captain Aeschbach is a 1990 graduate of The George Washington University.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and received her commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps.  She was designated a Naval Intelligence Officer after completing the Naval Intelligence Officer Basic Course in Dam Neck, Virginia.  She assumed command of NCTAMS LANT in September 2013. 

Captain Aeschbach’s operational assignments included Patrol Squadron (VP) 6, with deployments to Adak, Alaska, and Okinawa, Japan; Amphibious Squadron One, deploying to the Western Pacific and the Arabian Gulf; and Carrier Strike Group Nine, taking part in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  

Captain Aeschbach’s ashore assignments were Joint Intelligence Center Pacific in Aiea, Hawaii; Tactical Training Group Pacific in San Diego, California; Naval Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee; U.S. Naval Forces Europe in London, England; U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida; and as a military fellow at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in McLean, Virginia.  

From April to December 2011, Captain Aeschbach was the Deputy Director of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Capabilities Division, N2/N6F2, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.  Most recently, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Dominance (OPNAV N2/N6).   

Captain Aeschbach is a 2006 recipient of the Edwin T. Layton Leadership Award for outstanding leadership in Naval Intelligence.  In 2011, she was awarded the VADM Rufus L. Taylor Award for Leadership for her accomplishments during sustained combat operations with Carrier Strike Group Nine.  She earned a master’s degree in Business Administration at San Diego State University.   

Captain Aeschbach’s personal awards include the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal.
