The Civilian Human Resources community within the Department of the Navy (DON) oversees the development and delivery of personnel management policies, systems, guidance and programs which enable the DON to inspire, develop, and compensate its civilian workforce. The DON employs nearly 200,000 civilians worldwide, who perform diverse responsibilities from directly supporting deployed naval forces; to conducting universally-recognized research; and designing and purchasing ships, aircraft, and submarines. Our mission is to ensure that appropriate competencies and capabilities exist within our complex workforce to meet the changing demands of the Department's mission.
