NPC's Inclement Weather line: 901-874-4968
All personnel, regardless of whether you are considered "Weather Essential Personnel" (as identified by each PERS code/staff office) or not, are encouraged to use good judgment in determining if and when to come to work in inclement weather situations. If in doubt, consult with your chain-of-command for specific guidance.
During Normal Working Hours
If hazardous weather is forecasted or takes a major turn for the worse during normal working hours, a determination will be made if and when it is necessary to grant early dismissal. Once the decision is made, it will be sent out via email to all MILL_BUPERS Millington addressees.
Overnight or Weekends
Dangerous driving conditions often occur overnight or on weekends. Should this occur, every effort will be made to determine whether BPM/NPC will operate on its normal operating schedule, delay reporting for all personnel or for "weather essential" personnel only. Every effort will be made to make the decision no later than 0600 of the affected day. Once the decision is made, it will be delivered through NPC's Inclement Weather Line and posted on NSA Mid-South's home page.
Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mid-South
It is NSA Mid-South's policy not to close the base during inclement weather. NSA Mid-South will announce its operating status on its website and through the above listed news and radio stations. The announcement may state that NSA Mid-South is open for Limited Essential Support Functions, Essential Personnel Only, or in rare instances, that the base is closed.
