The Navy Office of Women's Policy, located in Washington, D.C., is responsible to the Chief of Naval Personnel (N1) and the Director for Military Personnel Plans and Policy (N13) for all topics affecting female officer and enlisted personnel. The Navy Office of Women's Policy monitors gender trends including retention, attrition, pregnancy, parenthood, recruiting, classification, promotions and career development. Other significant responsibilities and projects include interpreting and influencing the following policies:
The Navy Office of Women's Policy staff serves as representatives to the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Service (DACOWITS) and the Women in NATO Forces Committee.
