Who is your Detailer?
Conventional SWO JO Detailing is split up by alphabet among four Detailers. There is also one Detailer for all Nuclear SWO officers. The link is CAC enabled; you will be prompted to enter your CAC PIN once you click on the link.

What is the difference between a Placement Officer and a Detailer?
Your XO talks to Placement.
You talk to your Detailer.

Placement Officer concerns center around the needs of the command and not the needs/desires/career progression of the service member. Detailers concern themselves with the needs/desires/career progression of the servicemember and not the macro-level manning concerns of the command. In short, Placement owns billets and Detailers own bodies. Of course, there will be constant coordination between the two to provide the Fleet with the right person in the right place at the right time.

When will you be slated?
You can talk to your Detailer at any time if you have questions. View the Divo Slate Schedule to see when you will be in the slating window.

What will your career timing look like?
Take some time to review the SWO Career Planner with your chain-of-command, mentors, spouse, significant other... This is valuable tool to plan your career milestones and balance personal needs/desires.

First Divo Tour
Completion of your Surface Warfare Officer qualification is the critical component of the first division officer tour and is a prerequisite for Department Head screening for all surface line officers, surface limited duty officers, and special operations officers. This milestone should be completed within the first 18 months of shipboard assignment (for those commissioned 01 October 2012 or later). You may receive an extension, if requested by your CO, for up to four months.

Second Divo Tour
OFFICERS WILL NOT BE SLATED TO THEIR SECOND DIVISION OFFICER TOUR BEFORE COMPLETING THE SWO QUALIFICATION. Ensure that your Detailer receives your SWO letter--scan and email is fine.

Shore Tour
With the exception of GSA returnees and Naval Postgraduate School technical degree program quotas (which operate on a first-come basis), shore billet jobs are assigned during the competitive slate process. When multiple Officers request the same billet, billet assignment is determined through comparison of qualifications, FITREP’s, and Commanding Officers’ inputs.

How to submit RJCSRB
I've signed for RJCSRB, when do I switch Detailers?
      You officially switch to the 1st Tour DH Detailer once you have orders to DH
      school.  You are free to contact the 1st Tour DH Detailer with specific questions
      before then, just keep your assigned Detailer in the loop.
