Broadband Language Training System (BLTS)
The BLTS program at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) is a new distance learning program dedicated to deliver real-time foreign language training to non-resident DoD linguists via broadband technologies. Training is primarily intended for post-basic learners seeking to refresh, sustain or enhance their proficiency skills with the goal to reach Interagency Language Roundtable Level 3 or higher. Experienced DLIFLC teachers provide on-call service to stregthen the support network. If you are a FAO interested in this program, please contact the FAO Detailer to sign up.
Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) V
It is highly recommended that you review the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Centers (DLIFLC) DLPT V Familiarization Guides prior to taking your next test.
Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)
A DLPT score of 3/3 is required to schedule an OPI. However, members of the FAO community may schedule an OPI with a minimum score of 2/2. If you are a FAO who does not meet the 2/2 minimum you may submit a waiver request to the Officer Community Manager.

The Center of Language, Regional Expertise and Culture (CLREC) also has plethora of language support links on NKO (CLREC Language Resources) such as SCOLA, Joint Language University online, and additional online language links.
