YEOMAN RATING INFORMATION
Hello fellow YNs. I’m YNC (SW/AW) Martin, the E6 detailer. The best way to get the orders you desire is by communicating with your detailer! Your orders are governed by many factors. My job is to provide the right Sailor for the right job to ensure we meet our many challenges. As a reminder, you should talk to your Career Counselor and they will provide you with jobs available in CMS/ID. Keep in mind you should apply for more than one job to give you a fair opportunity to get the assignment desired.
NAVADMIN 249/09 Enhanced Career Management System-Interactive Detailing affords you the opportunity to apply for up to five billets in CMS/ID via your Command Career Counselor. There are also times when Career Enhancing Programs/Billets and challenging duties are open but may not be available for normal application procedures. Please don't hesitate to call us and inquire about this window of opportunities. Propel your career forward, take a challenging tour of duty and put your best foot forward.
Also, I would like to say "Congratulations" for a job well done to all the newly selected Yeoman Petty Officers. I know the one question on the minds of new selectees is: "Can I adjust my Projected Rotation Date (PRD) to my new pay-grade.” The answer is no. PRDs are now based on Sea/Shore flow (NAVADMIN 234/08).
Reminder: The minimum obligated service requirements for sea duty has changed from 12 months to 24 months (NAVADMIN 242-09).
