PERSONNEL SPECIALIST RATING INFORMATION
Greetings from Millington! I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate those of you who were selected for advancement on the March 2012 cycle. Advancements are very competitive, but can be achieved by properly preparing. I strongly encourage you to do your very best, as it serves to increase your chances for selection and improve the quality of knowledge and service provided by our community. As a front line customer service rate, we owe it to both our customers and our community to strive to be the very best that we can be.
One area that we do need to bring to the attention of our community is that NAVADMIN 249/09 has been on the street for quite some time, yet we still have numerous Sailors who do not make applications within the prescribed detailing window. It is imperative that you contact your Command Career Counselor or detailer when you enter your 12-month window to prepare for your next PCS move. With the reduction in PS billets due to Civilian substitutions, it is imperative that you shape your expectations as is it becoming increasingly more difficult to PCS within the same Fleet Concentration area. I ask that you prepare yourself for the possibility that you may have to relocate when you transfer.
