On the Minds of Detailers

Are you a highly motivated Sailor looking for a unique and challenging opportunity?  Look no further than the Navy’s newest innovation in warfighting and force protection, the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).

LCS is the embodiment of the 21-century Navy.  The future offers many exciting opportunities for this program, as the class will grow to 36 ships over the next several years.  The majority of LCS billets offer multiple NECs and vendor-level training, with pipelines varying from 6 to 24 months.  Currently, LCS Sailors have experienced above-fleet-average selection to CPO and commissioning programs.  If you are looking to advance your career, this is the path for you.
LCS is tailored and configured for a single focused mission.  The seaframe has basic operational and self-defense capabilities, with the ability to adapt to a specific mission by embarking the ship’s main battery—a MP—to support focused operations. Mission packages include:

Mine Warfare (MIW) has capabilities ranging from mine detection to neutralization and sweeping to support joint operations conducted ahead of or concurrent with power projection forces from both helicopters and unmanned vehicles.

Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) is designed to provide ASW Prosecution and Barrier operations while operating in a littoral (deep and shallow) water environment.

Surface Warfare (SUW) is primarily designed to provide the capability to detect, classify, track, and engage multiple groups of small boats and conduct Maritime Security Operations (VBSS).

Screening requirements are listed in LCS MILPERSMAN 1306-978.  A few of the specifics are color recognition, secret clearance eligibility, no domestic violence convictions, successful completion of the last 18 months of PFA cycles, previous sea duty, and ability to OBLISERV for 36 months once gained aboard the crew/mission package.

We have billets available in Mayport, Florida and San Diego, California for the following communities:  BM, ET, CS, DC, EN, FC, GM, GS, HM(IDC), HT, IT, LS, OS, and QM; and for the Mission Packages we are looking for the following rates:  AG, BM, EN, FC, GM, MN, and STG.

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please feel free to reach out to one of our program detailers, listed below.  We look forward to working with you!
