Availability Report Processing

An availability report (AVAIL) is the communication to the Assignment Control Authority (ACA) that a member requires assignment/reassignment.  It’s used as a key element to notify the ACA or anyone else with a need to know, why a member has become available for transfer and provides a means for the ones that process pay and personnel documents to properly track a member after AVAIL submission for receipt of BUPERS orders or other disposition.

Key Factors For AVAILS         AVAIL Request To Servicing PSD/CSD

Whether assigned as a student or former student at a training command, assigned in a temporary additional duty (TDY) status, or at a permanent duty station; these are members who are not considered as rollers at the end of their normal tour of duty.  Unless otherwise provided in this webpage and under current policy, it is the responsibility of the servicing PSD/CSD/PSD Afloat to submit AVAILS based on AVAIL notification received from applicable source.
