How to Reenlist or Extend in the IRR

Members of the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) may be allowed to reenlist or extend during the last 12 months prior to their End of Obligated Service (EOS) date, provided they remain in good standing and all eligibility requirements are met. Members who do not meet the eligibility criteria, do not respond to correspondence, do not keep NAVPERSCOM (PERS-933) informed of their current address, or do not remain a mobilization asset may not be allowed to reenlist or extend.

Please ensure you provide complete and accurate information including full name, rate, SSN, term of reenlistment or extension, your current mailing address, as well as home and work phone numbers. If you prefer to be contacted by E-mail, please include your E-mail address.

All requests must be signed and dated, certifying that "To the best of my knowledge and belief, my physical condition is substantially the same as when I was last physically examined by the Navy."

Mail your request to:

Commander
Navy Personnel Command (Pers-933)
5720 Integrity Drive
Millington, TN 38055

Upon receipt of your reenlistment/extension request, Pers-93 will prepare a reenlistment/extension package which will be mailed to you. You will receive this package in approximately 4 to 6 weeks. After you have completed the directions contained with your reenlistment/extension contract, return the package to Pers-93. A copy of the completed contract and information on obtaining a new ID card will be mailed to you when your reenlistment/extension has been processed.

If you have any questions, call an IRR Counselor at 1-800-535-2699.
