***Year Group (YG) is based on the Fiscal Year (FY) that a Sailor attended Recruit Training (i.e., entered boot camp December 2009 = YG 2010). Sailors will only be compared against their peers within the same Year Group (YG) vice being compared to Sailors in a whole zone (i.e., E5 with 6.5 years in the Navy to an E6 with 9.5 years). Please review the following year groups below for each rating to ensure the applicant are within the year group requirements.
All applicant should not have no more than 5 years active duty length of service (LOS).
*YN Rating Year Group: FY 2009 - 2013 Only. HYT Waiver requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Year Group Calculation Quickhelp
1. Calculate Year Group (YG) by adding all active service time (Mob, ADSW, ADT, AT)
2. Subtract total Active Service from Quarter Due date (3rd Quarter due date: 1 June 2013). The resulting year, month, day is your Year Group.

NOTE FOR RESERVE PACKAGES - The zones are applicable for total active duty time calculations, not to include reserve drill time.
