The new Navy Strategic Language List (SLL) and Foreign Language Proficiency Bonus (FLPB) list have been signed and approved for release.  To request copies, email us at ( via your official (.mil or .gov) email address and digitally sign your email.



                                    FLPB CHANGES  


ALL please take note:

There will be changes to the FY14 Navy Foreign Language Proficiency Bonus (FLPB) for Navy active duty and reserve personnel.

The purpose of this pay advisory is to announce the release of the FY14 Navy Strategic Language List (SLL) effective 1 OCTOBER 2013 and implementation effective 1 DECEMBER 2013. The FY14 Navy SLL will reduce or elimi...nate numerous FLPB amounts currently being paid. This action will impact over 1,000 Sailors in pay amounts ranging from $25-$1,000/Month. EFFECTIVE 1 DECEMBER 2013, Actions will be taken to adjust FLPB to the correct amounts.

                                            New to JKO - Operational Swahili

Operational Swahili teaches operational language and cultural skills needed to successfully complete a typical Civil Affairs mission while operating in the East African countries of Kenya and Tanzania. 

The subjects covered include building rapport, meeting local leaders and talking to villagers. 

The course is located under the Culture/Language tab on JKO.
