Command Master Chief Todd Anselm was born in St. Charles Missouri and entered the Navy in January 1989 at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. Upon graduation he attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School in Millington, TN. In May 1993 he attended Aerographer’s Mate “A” School in Biloxi, MS and cross rated to AG upon graduation.
His previous assignments include AC OP DET, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department North Island, CA; Naval Pacific Meteorology and Oceanography Detachment El Centro, CA; Aerographer’s Mate “C” School, Naval Technical Training Unit Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS; Naval Pacific Meteorology and Oceanography Detachment Diego Garcia, B.I.O.T.; USS WASP (LHD-1); Naval European Meteorology and Oceanography Center, Rota, SP; USS NASSAU (LHA-4); Naval Maritime Forecast Center, Norfolk, VA; and Naval Oceanography Special Warfare Detachment, Norfolk, VA, during which he deployed for 11 months as the Staff METOC Officer and Tactical Operations Center Chief for Special Operations Task Force Southeast, Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Master Chief Anselm reported aboard as the Command Master Chief of VFA 83 “RAMPAGERS” in August 2013.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 130 Gray) and he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College.
Master Chief Anselm’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3); Army Commendation Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) and various individual, campaign and unit awards. He has earned the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist designators.
