Master Chief Kevin D. Martin was born in St. Louis, MO and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1994. Following recruit training he attended YN "A" School.
Sea duty assignments include USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG 57), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), SIXTH Fleet Staff embarked onboard USS LASALLE (AGF 3), Carrier Strike Group NINE Staff embarked onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), and Base Command Group, Al Asad Iraq.
Shore duty assignments include U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, HI and duty as a Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.
Master Chief Martin took over as the Command Master Chief of Strike Fighter Squadron THREE FOUR in December 2011. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 162 - Brown) and the Command Master Chief course.
Master Chief Martin's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards). He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare and Aviation Warfare breast insignia and is qualified Officer of the Deck Underway and Master Training Specialist. He has an Associate's Degree in General Studies from University of Phoenix.
