Commander Nicholas Good
Executive Officer, Strike Fighter Squadron FIFTEEN
Commander Nicholas Good is a native of Sherman, TX and a 1996 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He was designated a Naval Aviator in Meridian, MS in May 1999.
Upon completion of replacement pilot training in the F/A-18 with the GLADIATORS of VFA-106 at NAS OCEANA, VA, he was assigned to the RAGIN BULLS of VFA-37 in Oceana, VA where he deployed aboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) flying combat sorties in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH in 2001 and IRAQI FREEDOM in 2003. While assigned to VFA-37, Commander Good served as PAO, Coffee Mess Officer, AV/ARM Division Officer, and Air-to-Ground Weapons Training Officer. In July 2003, Commander Good transferred to Naval Strike and Air Warfare Command (NSAWC) at Naval Air Station Fallon, NV as an Airwing Instructor at STRIKE. While attached to STRIKE, Commander Good completed Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor (SFTI) training at the Navy Fighter Weapons School, TOPGUN. He then reported to the SHRIKES of VFA-94 in Lemoore, CA as the squadron Training Officer where he deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Plan. VFA-94 was attached to MARINE AIR GROUP 12 based in Iwakuni, Japan. Next, he reported to the BLUE DIAMONDS of VFA-146 in Lemoore, CA where he deployed on a WESTPAC aboard USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) in 2009. During his tour, Commander Good served as a Department Head for Safety, Maintenance, and Operations. In 2009 he reported to the U.S. NAVAL WAR COLLEGE in Newport, RI where he earned a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. Commander Good reported in 2011 to Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center in Norfolk, VA and deployed as a Global War on Terror Support Assignment (GSA) to Kabul, Afghanistan as the Personnel Recovery Officer for NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan.
Commander Good's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike Flight Air Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards with 1 V), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various other individual and unit awards. He is married to the former Evelyn Parmelee from Sacramento, CA, and they have three children: Jacob, Nathan and Abigail.
