Command Master Chief (AW/SW)
William Caraballo
Master Chief William Caraballo was born and raised in New York ( The Bronx). He enlisted in the Navy in October 1988 and completed Basic/ Training and Mess Specialist "A" school at Recuirt Training Center/ Naval Technical Center, San Diego, CA.
His previous sea assignments include Night Baker on board USS JOUETT (CG 29), San Diego, CA; Leading Petty Officer S -2 Division on board USS DULUTH ( LPD 6), San Diego, CA, where he was Command Advanced to Petty Officer First Class; Leading Mess Specialist and Plankowner of USS CHUNG - HOON (DDG 93) Pearl Harbor, HI; Command Senior Chief MCM CREW LEADER embarked on board the USS CHIEF (MCM 14); USS WARRIOR ( MCM 10), San Diego, CA ; and USS ARDENT ( MCM 12), USS DEXTEROUS (MCM 13) Manama, Bahrain. Now he's assigned as the Command Master Chief at VFA-105, Gunslingers, in Virginia Beach, VA.
On shore, CMC Caraballo has served as Front Desk Supervisor at Bachelor Enlisted Quaters, Fleet Anti- Submarine Warfare Training Center, San Deigo, CA, where he was selected as CNET In-Keeper of the Year; Officer - In - Charge, Vieques Island Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico, where he was selected as the 2001 Navy Region Southeast Sailor of the Year; and Leading Supply/3M Inspector for Afloat Training Group Western Pacific Yokosuka, Japan.
He is a Veteran of seven Western Pacific Deployments supporting Operations DESERT SHIELD, VIGILANT SENTINEL, SOUTHERN WATCH, DESERT STRIKE, ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Master Chief Leadership Course. His personal awards include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Four Awards), Navy and Marine Achievement Medal (Seven Awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He has earned the Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist Insigina and the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Insignia.
