The ombudsman is prepared to provide family members referrals to community, social/welfare, and military support agencies, and premote lines of communication and information among them for the command. The Ombudsman is also a source of information for dependents regaurding benefits and privileges available to them. The Ombudsman, however, is NOT a go-between for the Navy sponsor and their command.
