Executive Officer

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Commander Everitt graduated from the University of South Florida in 1999 with a Bachelor’s in Business Management and in 2000 from the University of New Haven with a Master’s in Forensic Science. In March of 2001, he commissioned through Officer Candidate School. 
 
Following flight training and earning his Wings of Gold in July 2002, he reported to HSL-46 in Mayport, FL for his first operational flying tour. He deployed aboard USS VELLA GULF (CG 72) supporting Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, and aboard USS DOYLE (FFG 39) participating in counter narcotics operations in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. In February 2006, he transferred to HSL-40 as a FRS Instructor Pilot and served as the CNAL NATOPS Evaluator.  He was selected as the Instructor Pilot of the Year for 2008.
 
From November 2008 to June 2009, Commander Everitt deployed to Baghdad, Iraq for a Global War on Terrorism Support Assignment.  While in Iraq, he served in the Multi National Corps- Iraq Joint Operations Center.  In October 2009, he reported to HSM-70 in Jacksonville, FL where he deployed aboard USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN 77) supporting operations in the 5th Fleet.
 
Commander Everitt reported to HSM-75 in November 2011.  He served as the Detachment Two Officer-In-Charge aboard USS SHOUP (DDG 86) deploying to 5th Fleet, and Squadron Maintenance Officer. In 2014, he was named HSM-75’s Officer of the Year, COMHSMWINGPAC Maintenance Officer of the Year, and was selected as the Navy and Marine Association Leadership Award winner.
 
Following his department head tour, Commander Everitt served as the Counter Narcotics and Counter Threat Network Military Deputy for the USNORTHCOM, J-5 Directorate. He has accumulated over 3,500 flight hours in military aircraft.  His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit commendations.
