Command Master Chief


Command Master Chief Hailey is a native of Austin, Texas. He graduated high school in 1993 and enlisted in the Navy in 1994. He is a designated Master Training Specialist, a graduate of the US Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 154/Brown), and the CMC/COB Course (Class 109). Additionally, he earned his Associates in Arts Degree with a major in Marine Systems Management “with honors” from Coastline Community College in May 2007 and earned his certification in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University in June 2012.

Following his graduation from recruit training at RTC Great Lakes and Surface Sonar Technician “A” School, his first duty station was the Pre-Commissioning crew of the USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) San Diego, CA.  Follow on tours include: USS BENFOLD (DDG 65) San Diego, CA. and USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) Pearl Harbor, HI.

Ashore, he served two tours at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes Illinois performing the duties as a Recruit Division Commander, Ship’s (Barracks) Leading Chief Petty Officer, Fleet Quality Assurance Leading Chief Petty Officer, and 7th Fleet Leading Chief Petty Officer.

Selected into the Command Master Chief program in February 2012, his first tour was with the “Sidewinders” of Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT SIX (VFA-86).  He reported as the Command Master Chief for Carrier Air Wing 17 in October 2013

Command Master Chief Hailey’s military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal (five awards), Recruit Training Service Ribbon (two awards) and numerous unit citation and service awards. 

Command Master Chief Hailey is married to the former Ms. Jill Entzminger of Plover, Wisconsin.
