 Captain Alan M. Worthy 

DEPUTY COMMODORE


     Captain Worthy enlisted in the Navy in 1988 and is a graduate of the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) program and NROTC at The George Washington University.  He was designated a naval aviator in 1996 and completed H-46D Fleet Replacement Training in 1997.

     Operational assignments include Helicopter Combat Support Squadron SIX (HC-6), Helicopter Combat ELEVEN (HC-11), and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWENTY-FIVE (HSC-25) where he served as Officer in Charge onboard USS ESSEX (LHD-2).  Captain Worthy commanded the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment and The Wildcards of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWENTY-THREE (HSC-23).

     Shore duty assignments include Helicopter Combat Support Squadron THREE (HC-3), Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Director of Diversity and Inclusion with Commander Naval Air Forces, and Deputy Division Chief, Black Sea/Eurasia Division and Russia Strategy Group with J5 U.S. European Command.

     He holds an undergraduate degree of International Business, Masters Degrees of Global Leadership and Military Studies and is a graduate of the Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor course.

     Captain Worthy reported to Commander, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic as the Deputy Commodore in May 2016.
