Born in Bristol, Connecticut, Senior Chief Godet graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in June 1987.  Prior to graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program and reported for basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois in January 1988.  After completing basic training, he reported to Naval Technical Training Command in Meridian, Mississippi where he successfully completed Yeoman (YN) “A” School.


In July 1988, Senior Chief Godet reported to his first at sea duty assignment onboard USS DALE (CG 19), home-ported in Mayport, Florida.  He served as the ship’s Legal YN and as assistant to the Executive Officer (XO) while deployed with the USS AMERICA BATTLE GROUP in the Mediterranean Sea.


Senior Chief Godet’s subsequent sea duty assignments include:  Commander, Amphibious Squadron EIGHT (CPR-8), where he served as Admin LPO and was advanced under the Command Advancement Program to Petty Officer First Class.  While assigned to CPR-8, he successfully completed two Mediterranean Sea deployments while embarked onboard USS SAIPAN (LHA-2) and USS WASP (LHD-1) and qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.  In March 2006, he returned to WASP to serve as the Ship’s Secretary and Admin LCPO during a successful “surge” to the Mediterranean Sea for the fourth time on a naval vessel.


From August 2000 to March 2006, Senior Chief Godet served as a Flag Writer at the following commands:  OPNAV N6, CTF-NMCI, Naval Space Command, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SAC-T), and Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV), specializing in protocol and executive administration.  Additionally, he was the key component in several highly successful Change of Command and Retirement Ceremonies.


Senior Chief Godet’s shore and oversea duty assignments include:  Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF) Groton, Connecticut where he advanced to Petty Officer Second Class; Helicopter Squadron FOUR (HC-4) Sigonella, Sicily where he served as the CO/XO YN, Operations YN, and Command Fitness Leader; Administrative Support Unit Southwest Asia (ASU-SWA) Bahrain, where he served as Admin LPO.  His most recent shore assignment was at Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO SIX (VFA-106) as the Senior Enlisted Advisor of the most diversified department within the command.  While assigned, he completed a highly successful IA assignment in the Horn of Africa onboard Camp Lemonniar Djibouti, Africa as the Leading Chief Petty Officer for the base Administrative Department.


Senior Chief Godet is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 143) in Newport, Rhode Island and is working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with St. Leo’s University.  He is currently assigned to Commander, Carrier Strike Group TWO serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader.


His decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (8th), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6th), and several other personal, campaign, and unit awards.
